We moved my Mother in Law - Jenny, from a memory care center located in Beaumont to be closer to us back in October 2017. My husband had been looking for a place closer to us here in Spring - and came across Mossy Oaks Retreat so he called and spoke with Abi and Christian Striblea. They were just opening their new place and Jenny would be the first resident to move in at Mossy Oaks. We knew from the start thatwe had picked a wonderful place for our Mother to move to. Abi and Christian could not have been kinder and more loving toward Jenny. The move in process went very smoothly and we were so impressed with everything. Mom had a lovely room and she adapted to her new surroundings with ease. The nurses that worked with Mom were so gentle and kind with her. Jenny's main nurse was Brenda and she would read the Bible to Mom and play the guitar and they would sing hymns together. Even though Alzheimer's had robbed Mom of her short term memory - she was still able to enjoy the activities that Mossy Oaks offered. Christian and Abi made sure all of Jenny's needs were met and they went over and beyond to make her happy and comfortable. We werealways welcome to drop in and visit and we came to love them as though they were partof our family. Unfortunately we lost Mom on New Year's Eve when she passed away from a massive heart attack. Abi and Christian were right there with us and their hearts were broken just like ours. I would give anything for Jenny to have had more time at Mossy Oaks as it was truly such a blessing to find this home and we are so very thankful that mom was able to enjoy her last few months on earth at such a beautiful place. We will be forever grateful to Abi and Christian and the staff at Mossy Oaks Retreat.
